Location:
480 Warrowie Road Irrewarra
Client:
Victorian Farmers
Highlights:
Our client, a third-generation farmer, owns several farm properties, with former farmhouses. Maintaining these houses is too costly, unnecessarily diverting essential funds from farm operations, which often gives the farmer no choice but to leave them abandoned at the risk of becoming derelict. Our client wanted to be proactive and avoid this from happening. We were happy to help!
The proposed 2-hectare lot included an existing dwelling, a garage, and landscaped gardens that, for many years, no longer served a purpose for the large-scale farming operations. Our client’s primary homestead is located nearby.
Despite logical reasoning, planning applications like this are often rejected by many Councils, as Farming Zone planning policies are often outdated and no longer relevant to the needs of farmers and local rural communities. There is also a significant rural housing shortage in rural areas.
Nevertheless, PAR Planning advocated hard – as we always do for our clients; a planning permit for subdivisions was achieved.
A win for the farmer and for the local community always seeking opportunities to fill the local schools, sporting clubs and find local volunteers such as CFA, whist opportunity for key workers to live where they work.
Result: Planning Permit achieved, first one in the minimal permit conditions, stamped plans.
PAR Achieved:
PAR Planning – gets results for Victorian Farmers
