Young Family – building new home
Highlights:
Our clients acquired a small vacant lot; although zoned Farming, it was however, within the town’s residential growth boundary. They were having difficulty navigating the complexities of the planning process and had been informed by Council Planning that obtaining a planning permit for a dwelling was unlikely until it was rezoned, which may take years. Our clients could not put their young family lives on hold- nor should they!
PAR Planning worked through the onsite wastewater requirements, flood overlay and short setbacks, and existing development constraints.
We submitted a detailed written submission and drafted supporting documents that also involved a verbal presentation in front of the Council Planning Committee (Councillors), who overturned the Council Planning Officer’s recommended refusal and granted a planning permit.
Clients decided to amend the dwelling plans post-permit. We achieved Council amendment consents within a couple of weeks and further negotiated better outcomes. We pride ourselves on the business of dream-making and a great start for this local young family.
Result: Planning Permit achieved, minimal conditions, stamped plans.
PAR Achieved:
Strong client care and representation, planning advocacy, and always getting the results you need.
