Farmer’s Daughter – Retired
Highlights:
PAR Planning had been engaged by Maryanne; she had owned the small vacant lot since 1978 (51 years), inherited from her farming parents. PAR Planning prepared a planning permit application for the Use and Development of a Dwelling within the Farming Zone and an Overlay.
For 51 years, the 1.2 hectare stood vacant in the Farming Zone; too small for independent agriculture yet told for many years a dwelling planning permit would not be granted.
She told us she needed to sell in order to get a better price to fund her retirement care costs.
At PAR, we arranged re-establishment surveying as the existing fencelines did not match, prepared her planning submission, demonstrated the emerging residential growth, arranged affordable dwelling plans (to sell with the land), presented her case to Council, spoke to the media and advocated on her behalf. Councillors collectively voted to grant the planning permit, no easy task in the farming zone and a win for a farmer’s daughter.
Result: Planning Permit achieved within 3 months. Plans Stamped.
PAR Achieved:
Life–changing for Maryanne; that’s what we do at PAR Planning.
